As is traditional, the Boyertown Bears open up the 2023 American Legion Baseball Season with a game against the Doylestown Tigers on May 21st at 7pm at our beautiful Bear Stadium. Following opening game, The Bears have just over 20 regular season games with an additional two All-Star tournaments at Villanova and Rowan Universities.
Post-season begins with Berks County playoffs on July 5th with the first few games hosted at the higher seeds, and then finishing off the tournament at West Lawn.
July 15th - 19th Bear Stadium is again hosting the Pennsylvania Region 2 Tournament! The top 8 teams in the region will be competing for a spot in the Pennsylvania State Tournament the last week in July, hosted by the Latrobe Jethawks in Southwest Pennsylvania.
There are plenty of opportunities this summer for a night out at the ballpark, keeping the Boyertown Legion Baseball legacy alive. Don’t forget to come out and pay a visit to Bear Stadium, support the Legion Bears, and meet all of the wonderful volunteers that keep things moving!
Thanks, Bob. Love these.
And now I know the Schmidt haus.
Fascinating research. Would love to learn more.
Thank you for this information. Wendel (correct spelling) Renninger was my 8th generation great grandfather. I’d be interested in any other information your research may have turned up on him.
