On a glorious September Saturday filled with sunshine and blue sky, Building a Better Boyertown celebrated Oktoberfest offering tent after tent in the borough's inner core parking lot featuring food and drink, vendors offering a variety of gift items, activities for children, entertainment, and a few non-profits.

"Sow and Sew" offered whimsical gift items.

German dancers entertained the crowd.

Retired Boyertown High School math teacher Roberta Windish dressed for the part in colorful garb.

Sponsors were acknowledged prominently.

BaBB made sure all needs were met

Kids had fun in bounce houses, facepainting, games, and a special area for play.

The celebration began with an OktoberFEAST at Grind Restaurant on Thursday, September 14. A multi-course meal was served; each course was paired with a beer that was on tap during Oktoberfest weekend. Guests also received a souvenir tasting glass to commemorate the event.

"I think everybody was pleased with the event," offers owner Keith Kopicki. "I'm pretty hard on myself, but everyone cleaned their plates, and that's always a good sign."

Twenty-seven guests started dinner in the venue's wagon wheel room with squash soup in a pumpkin carved out for the occasion and ended with homemade ice cream and enough beer to "make them silly."

BaBB's festivities began in earnest on Friday night and continued from 1 pm-10 pm on Saturday. A good time was had by all.
