A chance to share Christmas wishes with Santa is always the main attraction during Building a Better Boyertown's (BaBB's) annual Chillin' on Main Festival that was held on Saturday, December 1, 2023. But this year's festivals provided much more for thousands who enjoyed a warm-ish December day.
Main Street Manager Ellen Martignetti welcomed families to the event after checking all was ready for Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and making sure that mascot Bearianne's tent was ready for her long winter's nap.
Downtown businesses brought their specialties.
Young entrepreneurs set up shop.
... and came ready to perform.
Scout troop 503 created wreaths. Troop 545 welcomed friends. Nonprofits offered information, sought support, and acknowledged sponsors.
Crafters offered festive decor for sale; crocheted and felt gnomes and Pokémon Go items were favored.
Facepainting was a featured fundraising activity. Members of Santa's favorite elf family were out and about; the Grinch was available courtesy of Ironstone Restaurant for personal photos; cut out figures for children and adults provided opportunities for fun photos.
Food trucks and local eateries filled hungry bellies.
Live musicians entertained and, later, a DJ kept the airwaves busy throughout the day.
Even I had a chance to share my Wish List with Santa!
Boyertown couldn't have asked for a more perfect winter's day to kick off the holiday season, to spend a little time exploring downtown, and to gather unique items for gifting.
May this season bring peace and goodwill to us all!
