Concerned About Education? Get Answers at the Boyertown School Board Candidates' Forum

Do you have questions or concerns about the Boyertown Area School District and the quality of education and experiences provided to local students?

We do.

And we want those running for school board to know our concerns and to share how they hope to address them should they be elected to a seat on the Board or retain the seat they have.

We want to know what motivates them to run for a position. We'd like to know what concerns them about our schools--the policies, procedures, staffing--what changes they believe are needed to the present programs, and how they would address those changes.

We want to know their level of experience in educational matters and what skills and qualities they hope to bring to the current board to assure it works effectively...and respectfully... in solving problems.

If you have concerns and wonder about things  too, we urge you to attend the Boyertown School Board Candidates' Forum on Thursday, October 16 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave. in Boyertown. The doors will open at 6:30 P.M.

According to organizers, the forum is being held "for those seeking election to the Boyertown Area School District Board of Directors," and it "will allow the candidates to present their ideas to the voters and allow them to learn about those seeking to represent them." All candidates have been invited.

"Each candidate will be allowed brief opening remarks followed by questions from the audience. Each candidate will be allowed to make closing remarks at the end of the forum."

Our children deserve a solid education to prepare them for a changing world; they deserve adults who are qualified and dedicated to making sure they get one.

Our community deserves to be represented by adults with strong leadership and communication skills, adults who have the best interests of the children and their families at the forefront.

Come out and get to know the candidates.

Your interest and participation will help make the school district be the best it can be -- and an outstanding school district impacts everyone and everything in our community.
