"Slava Ukraine": the sunflower represents the country fighting for its survival. Jay Ressler's painting provided a message of support during Studio B's "Flora & Fauna" exhibit during the early days of their on-going war.

My late friend Charlotte Cubbler loved them!

Poet and artist printmaker William Blake meditated on human longing, the lost innocence of youth, and a desire to find rest in Heaven in "Ah! Sunflower."
Ah! Sunflower
by William Blake, (from Songs of Experience, 1794)
Ah Sun -flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the travellers journey is done.
Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 90 and low of 66 degrees. Sunny for the morning, cloudy for the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
Thank you for the service of Expression
I am in awe of this glass artwork and plan to visit the Corning Museum exhibit soon! Thanks for making us aware of our local pioneers.
