I recall being invited to cut a bouquet of zinnias from a plot of them a friend planted one year. The rainbow of color filled my vase. 

Fine artist Susan Biebuyck captured the simple beauty of a similar bouquet in her painting and of a single bloom. 

I found a grouping of them during a recent walk in my neighborhood. 

....and a lovely display at Wendy's Flower's.
