Director’s Band Fun Days Concert Kicks Off A Summer of Celebration

With Spring’s arrival comes many outdoor events and activities in the Boyertown area. With this, FUN DAYS is one of the openers to the season. School is ending and vacations have been planned. If you are looking for some local activities that are family friendly, FUN DAYS is for you!

Friday evening, May 29, the Director’s Band will present an evening concert in the Spaatz Band Shell at the Boyertown Community Park. This event is free and open to everyone. Please bring a lawn chair, blanket, and your favorite snack to enjoy during the concert. Parking is available. This is a family-friendly environment, and children are welcome!

The Director’s Band repertoire is a mix of big band, jazz, and pop/rock selections. This performance includes: Count Basie’s “Wind Machine," “Come Fly with Me,” made famous by Frank Sinatra, the 1970’s rock tune “Vehicle," Best of Earth, Wind and Fire, as well as “Uptown Funk” (2014),recorded by singer Bruno Mars. Director Jim Dugan wants concert goers to know that there are selections to please every one and the band will have your toes tapping with the music!

For those who attended or missed the New Years Eve Gala at the Keystone Fire house, Save the date for the Big Band Dance on July 5, 2026 as part of the FREEDOM FEST. Dance, Swing and Celebrate!
