Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club Announces $18,240.00 in Community Donations

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $13,140.00 to the Boyertown Fire and Rescue. The check was received by Jarid Miller Assistant Chief and Greg Deiterich, Chief. The money will be used to help secure additional equipment for the fire company.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club recently announced that they have slated to make $18,240.00 in contributions to benefit local communities this year. BJWC is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the world’s largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organizations.

The club year, which runs from September through May, is filled with meetings, community events, and fundraisers. BJWC’s biggest fundraiser is their annual “Girls’ Night Out Basket Raffle”. The raffle which was held in March raised almost $19,000.

This year the Boyertown Fire and Rescue received a significant percent of the monies raised. A check in the amount of $13,140.00 was presented to Jarid Miller Assistant Chief and Greg Deiterich, Chief. The money will be used to help secure additional equipment for the fire company.

Notable 2026 contributions include $750 to Althouse Arboretum, $500 to Boyertown Historical Society: $400 for repairs and $100 to sponsor the 2026 Boyertown Freedom Fest, $750 Boyertown Community Library, $750 to Fostering Hope Berks County Chapter, $500 to Children’s Alliance of Berks County, and $750 to Operation 143.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $750 to Althouse Arboretum. The monies were received by student leaders: Auri Carrillo, Joey Boal and Haley Harner. The monies will help the Arboretum continued their youth programs.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $500 to the Boyertown Historical Society. It was received by Rachel Keller, President and Luanne Zambanini, treasurer. $100 of the donation will be used as a sponsorship for the Freedom Fest to be held on July 3, 2026 in the Boyertown Park. The remaining funds will go toward continue renovations at the Historical Society.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $750 to Sami Jo Trout, Director and Sarah Vasquez, fundraising, and marketing director of the Boyertown Community Library. The monies will help to defray operating expenses.


Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $750 to Fostering Hope of Berks County. The funds were received by Paula Gyomber, Chapter Coordinator and Corrie Peroni, Closet Coordinator. The funds will be used to continue to help foster families in Berks County.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented $500 to Amy Sunstrom, Director of Children’s Alliance Center of Berks County. In addition to the monetary donation, (Club) members donated journals, stuffed animals, water and fidget toys. The money and items will help the center continue their programming.

Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club presented a check in the amount of $750 to Operation 143. The check was received by Kristen Kerch, Program Coordinator and Sara Heacock, Operations Coordinator. The monies will be used to help continue the great work that they do providing food to students and six area school districts. The food deliveries help to sustain the students over the weekends.

Additionally, two $1,000 scholarships were designated to graduating Boyertown High School seniors to support their continuing education.
