Since 2013 Boyertown's Frecon Farms store has celebrated the delicious sweetness of a variety of Pennsylvania peaches with a week long "Peach Jubilee." This year's Jubilee wraps up Saturday, August 20. Jenny Frecon Smith describes Saturday as the "culmination" of the week's "culinary peach experience."
"August is the height of peach season so we came up with the idea of showcasing a variety of different ways people can enjoy peaches," explains Smith. "Each day of the week we feature a different peach item," she adds. This year's offerings have included peach cider donuts, peach slushies and smoothies, and grilled peaches.
Saturday everything comes together with free cooking demonstrations and a tasting menu, among other things.
The community always seems to enjoy the event: "We always get a nice turnout," Frecon shares.
Thanks, Bob. Love these.
And now I know the Schmidt haus.
Fascinating research. Would love to learn more.
Thank you for this information. Wendel (correct spelling) Renninger was my 8th generation great grandfather. I’d be interested in any other information your research may have turned up on him.
