Get Ready to Create: Stellar House Gift Shop Celebrates Bear Fever's 20th Anniversary

Creative Project--Keepsake Postcards: I’ve been working to get this little project together for the last couple of months for Bear Fever. It was finally delivered to me last night.

The Inspiration: Former Main Street manager Jillian Magee, now Shellenbeger, had sent me a video about a temple in Japan where you traveled around stamping and laying colors onto a keepsake postcard. It was so inspiring that I had an artist create a Dutch-inspired bear image. She drew inspiration for the Schule* Bear by Tompkins Bank. She drew it in three color layers.

The Creators: Jillian’s husband Ryan, a stamp maker by trade (RLS studios), created three separate 4x6 stamps and a template for the postcards to sit in. I designed the back of the postcards and Lee [Levengood] at Everything Printing sponsored the postcards.

The Creative Process: Participants will travel to my shop [Stellar House Gift Shop], The Peppermint Stick [Candy Store or Ice Cream Parlor] and Brakeman’s Café, each location [will have] a different stamp and color. When you have visited all three places, you will have a finished Boyertown bear postcard you can keep or toss in the mail!

... I’ll be filming a "How To" video and Wednesday [July 9, 2025]  will be the day we will have everything set up in our businesses. 

*"Schule" is German for "school."
