Baking and barking were the theme on Saturday, Sept. 9 when the Bally Area Recreational Development Society (BARDS) hosted their annual Bow Wow Dog Swim and Bake Sale. As always, the event was held at the Bally Community Pool.

BARDS’ goal for the bake sale and dog swim was to raise $3,000 to pay for sealcoating the pool parking lot next spring. The group has been holding a variety of fundraisers to pay for facility upgrades.

Fortunately the rain stayed away, enabling 70 dogs and over 100 people to attend. Many of the latter came to purchase homemade treats at the bake sale. Many of the dogs enjoyed a post-swim frolic through the nearby park field following their swim, while others just relaxed following their exercise.
