Ellixson’s Tae Kwon Do Academy Students Secure Gold at Nationally Accredited Tournaments

In a remarkable display of skill, discipline and sportsmanship, competitors from Ellixson’s Tae Kwon Do Academy ascended to the pinnacle at 2 Nationally-acclaimed Tournaments last month. Tournaments such as these draw talents from across the country, yet Ellixson’s “Team Elite” stood out, bringing home 23 gold medals and 2 Grand Championships.

Behind this extraordinary team stands the unwavering support of Master Donnie Ellixson, Jr, owner of the TKD Academy. “So proud of this group! This month we took a shot at a couple national tournaments and did very well” Mr. Ellixson exclaims.

The US Capital Classics (Washington DC) and the Amerikick Internationals (Atlantic City, New Jersey) are two of the 13 World Tournaments on the N.A.S.K.A. (North American Sport Karate Association) circuit which stretches through Canada, U.S. & Mexico.

NASKA is the largest and most prestigious martial arts circuit, if a contender wins at this event, they are doing pretty well. Ellixson adds, “We knew going into this tournament that if we even placed 4th we would be doing something special, many of the Elite Team Members did even better than that!”

The Grand Champion of the event is the overall winner. At Capital Classics Piper Ellixson and Michael McCloud won their divisions, won the semi-finals and then both went on to claim Grand Champion--Piper in forms and Michael in weapons.

With this momentum, the team has now set their sights on the upcoming 2024 World Cup, hosted by World Forms and Fighting Champion John Chung in Herndon, Virginia.
