A talented, intelligent, active person with little spare time is Tim Simmons. Combining his musical and leadership qualities, he has served as President of the Band for the past year.
In addition to playing the tuba, he is a member of the brass choir, German band, and Psyche band. His talent has also placed him in two county bands and orchestras, and one regional band which is quite an honor.
Tim is also "chief" of the stage crew.
You would think that this would fill anyone's schedule, but Tim also works part-time at the National Bank of Boyertown. This ties in with his future plans because by working there, he is also gaining experience for attaining his goal of becoming a certified public accountant and bank examiner. He hopes to achieve this by attending Shippensburg College for Accounting.
When asked how he spends the little spare time he has, he responded with "playing basketball, church softball, tennis, and ping-pong; snowmobiling in season and also playing with Chetah, my pet cat."
Besides "tuba music," Tim enjoys listening to Bach, Maynard-Ferguson and generally quiet, soothing music.
This last summer Tim attended Camp Neidig, a leadership camp for a week. He was selected for this by the guidance counselors.
Finishing up his four years here at BASH, he especially praised the idea of quarter courses. Being a musician and leader, Tim Simmons has certainly made BASH proud to have had him in attendance. As a result of his great incentive and ambition, Tim is sure to be very successful at whatever he sets out to do.
