[Boyertown, Pa- March 15, 2026] – Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club recently held their Once Upon a Prom event at Boyertown YMCA. Once Upon a Prom is about helping girls have a memorable prom experience. Racks and racks of new and gently used dresses were set up and displayed. The event, which is in its eleventh year, saw record number attendance. Over 110 young ladies browsed the collection of hundreds of dresses. Most of the girls attending left with multiple dresses, shoes, and jewelry to complete the look.

"This event has gotten bigger each year, and the amount of donations from the community is just amazing. We are grateful for all the donations! This year, Agnes Edmunds and the Dress Code donated new dresses for the girls. Every year we aim to help more girls find the perfect dress. I love it when the girls find several dresses they like and we can say, ‘Take them all!’ The girls and their parents are thrilled and we are so happy!" said Anita Zuber, Once Upon a Prom committee chair.

"Once Upon a Prom" had hundreds of dresses in all colors and in both long and short styles available for participants to try on.

The event, which was held March 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th saw local girls attending from Boyertown, as well as those who traveled from areas and schools such as Pottstown, Pottsgrove, Owen J. Roberts, Oley, PJP, RACC, Coventry Christian, Reading, Exeter, Conrad Weiser, Berks Catholic, Daniel Boone, and Tulpehocken. An event such as this would not be possible without support from many very generous people and organizations. BJWC would like to thank Alicia Dinnell, executive director of the Boyertown YMCA, for use of their rooms, Agnes Edmunds Bridal & Formals and the Dress Code for their dress donations, Zuber Realty for storing and transporting dresses and accessories, as well as the community at large for their kind-hearted dress donations.

While the event was free, voluntary donations were accepted. The money collected will be donated back into the community by Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club.
