Boyertown native and high school grad Ross Yerger (BASH ‘90, PSU ‘95)--or “Yergz,” as he's been known since junior high football coach and the community’s baker Tom “Breezy” Rupert named him--retired from his twenty-one-year career with the Secret Service in 2021 and has been, like many others, podcasting ever since.
But, for Yergz, unlike many others, the story has a complicated history. Today, having found his audience beyond YouTube, by creating a LinkedIn Page for his livestreamed show, he’s everywhere—Facebook pages, D-Live, Rumble and Twitter. And podcasting.
He created his first RSS feed. Then came internet radio similar to streaming music or talk shows, but LIVE! Yergz Radio needed its own his streaming service provider. Enter The Yerger Group. And that fast, Mastiff.Media became more than just some YouTube channels.
Partnered with Media CP, a SaaS company in Queensland, Australia, Mastiff.Media now provides to small and large companies the opportunity for their internet radio or TV station to stream to the internet.
By wholesaling in bulk from Media CP, Yergz is able to easily create his own stations, almost immediately, plus provide hobbyists and radio station Program Directors a high-quality streaming service for a fraction of what previous companies offered.
From there, it was time to create the shows to program the stations. “We’re STILL filling spots!” Yergz announces. He is actively searching for live shows featuring individual hosts or podcasts to be repurposed similar to a pre-recorded radio show.
“While we prefer to air live shows--which we do--we also fill the schedule with podcasts that our listeners want and that match the format of our now SIX stations!"
Yergz explains, “These recorded shows are syndicated—that is, played at another station at the program directors’ discretion. I’m now part of two live shows that are also repurposed into podcasts, and one show that is podcast-only.”
That one show is “B Inspired,” the audio podcast hosted by Jane Stahl that features Boyertown area creatives, business leaders, and community members in conversations exploring their "artistic journeys."
From the early days of Yergz Radio and Mastiff.Media Network, “B Inspired” has kept Yergz connected to his hometown and interested in adding programs or podcasts featuring people, events, and opportunities from the area.
Current shows that Yergz produces include
1. Up The Middle; Politics for the Rest of Us!
This show was inspired by the firing of Fox News contributor and former Secret Service Agent, Dan Bongino. Yergz shared,“I was lying in bed reading about this and thought, ‘I can do better than he does!’ So now I do, Sunday evenings!”
While Yergz makes no secret about not being a “Trumper,” Up The Middle takes a look at political issues from both The Left, and The Right of the political spectrum. It airs Sunday evenings at 6:30pm ET on The Mastiff.Media Network.
2. The Mastiff.Media Morning Show (MMMS)
Realizing that many small stations, particularly in Florida, did not have a basic morning show of any kind, Yergz started MMMS, a flagship show for a radio station, particularly those that are AM/FM, or “terrestrial.”
Yergz added, “Not having a show of this kind during this time of the day where the listening audience is the highest and when the station can charge the most for ad spots is broadcasting suicide!”
And so, The Mastiff.Media Morning Show provides “Florida-Centric” newz (yes, with a “z”), traffic, weather, tide schedules and features that runs from 6am - 9am Eastern. Yergz offers, “I was never a morning person, but I am now!”
MMMS has also seen its share of celebrities. Various political figures and well-known podcasters have, or are scheduled to visit the show, even though it has only been on the air since August 3rd of this year. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Defensive End RK Russell is in talks with Mastiff.Media to be the NFL correspondent for the upcoming season!
You can also hear “MMMS” weekdays from 6a-9a on the Mastiff.Media Network.

You can also call and discuss either by calling 941-69-YERGZ. This is the same number used by the studio, for taking calls during live shows.
3. Both Sides Now (BSN)
“BSN” is inspired by the song of the same title and is co-hosted by Yergz and retired Boyertown English Teacher, and Expression co-editor, Jane Stahl.
The two discuss everything and anything, largely to do with the Boyertown Area, but also, of course, politics-- "When Jane can stomach it," Yergz confides, as well as Shakespeare, Studio B Fine Art Gallery, Building a Better Boyertown, and The Life of Fur Baby Parents!
“Both Sides Now” is both a discussion and a debate, is recorded weekly on a Monday, and usually drops one or two days later. It is available on Apple, iHeart, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
About Yergz:
Yergz moved to the greater Tampa Bay Area immediately following his retirement from the Secret Service and has been living there with his dog, Shady, and son, Zack, whom he adopted at the age of 17, soon after his retirement.
Both Moby and Matrix, the namesakes of Mastiff.Media, have since passed away from old age after crossing the country twice with “Daddy Ross” and being spoiled by loving family members, neighbors and their Daddy’s fellow broadcasters. The home that Yergz, Zack and Shady lived in was virtually destroyed in Hurricane Helene and is in process of being rebuilt almost two years later.
