Whew! Meet Tim and Vanessa Stewart of Gilbertsville. This personable couple has a ton of stories to tell. There's Tim’s at-bat, love-at-first-sight/gonna-marry her-moment. Then there's the story about his injuries. While serving as a Marine at Quantico supplying gear during officer training sessions, as a passenger in an unlucky accident, he was thrown out of the vehicle. The van flipped and landed on his right hand. Luckily, an ambulance was within 5 minutes away, the doctors at the medical center chose not to amputate, but decided instead to send him to a nearby hospital where super-skilled orthopedic doctors happened to be there for special training. He struggles to get around but still feels blessed with four kids and 17 grandkids. And, in a blessing to others, Tim and Vanessa offer their home as a Safe House for those in recovery, escaping an abusive relationship, or re-entering the world after imprisonment. And then there's the story of the art work of Ray Leight that they saved from the trash that needs a good home. Oh, and if you ask him about the number 7, he'll invite you to dinner to share that story. Good people with great stories to share on a bench in Boyertown.

Thanks Francine! I discovered clafoutis last year and love making it for get-togethers. It’s always a hit. I usually use blueberries. I’ve never tried cherries, much less unpitted ones! That is worth a try!
