Boyertown area resident Donna Stauffer writes: “I have always enjoyed making drop cookies. They are simple to do and you can make them whatever size you choose.”
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 8-10 minutes
Yield: 30-40 cookies, depending on how large you drop them
½ cup butter
1 ½ cups light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sour cream
2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup melted butter
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 cups confectionary sugar
1. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar together.
2. Add eggs, beating after each addition.
3. Blend in sour cream and vanilla.
4. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. Add to creamed mixture.
5. Chill one hour.
6. Drop dough by teaspoons on to cookie sheet.
7. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
8. Allow cookies to cool completely and then frost.
1. Mix 1/4 cup melted butter, 3 tablespoons of sour cream, and 2 cups confectionary sugar.
2. Beat until smooth.
