Walking my granddog Ginger on the rare sunny day we've seen these many rainy days in May and June, I picked up the red rose pictured above that had been dropped on the sidewalk. This single bloom was a touch of beauty that I enjoyed for several days on my kitchen window sill and reminded me and my family that sometimes it's the little things in life that provide moments of joy on cloudy days--challenging times--of our lives and inspire us to look for more of those little things on our travels.
And indeed that's what happened. During the rest of our walk that morning, I found more roses and "brought them home" via my phone's camera for us all to enjoy during this season's rainy days.
Now that the sun has returned, there will be other "little things" to enjoy. We hope you'll share them to inspire us. (janeEstahl@comcast.net)

Listening to your community is such an important part of being an elected official. Thanks to all of the candidates who had the courage to come out and answer 17 questions submitted by our community on the fly. I think it’s important to note that none of the incumbent candidates made it a priority to attend.
Thank you for the ghost stories at this time of year. It's great to have the variety of artiicles you (Jane and Leslie) put together for our local information, our entertainment and contemplation--keep up the good work!
BOO!
