Who…or what…do you LOVE! The Boyertown Area Expression invites YOU to share your Love Story …leading up to the Big Day.
Please share your story expressing your love for…your spouse or partner, a grandchild, a puppy or kitten...whatever it is that you love or have loved about them. Photos encouraged. Inviting other lovers to submit is encouraged as well. (We were inspired by the NYC project that asked for stories in 100 or less, but we aren't counting words!)

On a snowy Monday February night in 2016, I met a man with a beautiful smile in person whom I had met on-line a few days before. I remember driving to the Bally Hotel, parking in the BB&T parking lot, running close to meeting time when my car started to slide over the hill of the lot.
Nervous, I quickly reversed and texted my date saying I would be a few minutes late when a spot opened up and I was able to park at the hotel. I walked in to see the man I was meeting looking at me over his reading glasses, and I said to myself, “Uh oh, no way.”
We introduced ourselves and immediately started chatting; I was amazed: he talked more than I did! When he walked me to my car and hugged me goodnight, it was like stepping back in time. “Uh, oh, no way” had changed to “What a sweet, kind gentleman.” The love story had begun.
When we met again, it seemed like we had known each other forever. Since it was Valentine’s week, he invited me to a Valentine’s Day Dinner, and I readily accepted. That evening he came to pick me up with candy, flowers and a card. It was the first time ever that I got all of those items for Valentine’s Day. And where you put the return address, he put his name, assuming that I had many admirers.
We enjoyed a wonderful evening with what I knew by that time was not just a date. Within a month we knew we were a match. We did everything together, especially golf. In June we went to North Carolina to meet his parents. The welcome was like no other since Jeff had not seen his father in many years. What a wonderful weekend! It was so special that his mom and dad gave me her golf pendant that her mother had given her, creating a special memory for me.
On January 29, 2017—almost a year after we first met, we were attending the Annual Charity Ball at the Pottstown Elks Lodge. It’s a tradition to take photographs in front of the fireplace. When it was our turn, Jeff got down on one knee and proposed. The crowd was cheering and “aw-ing” and crying, and, of course, I said “yes.” One year later, we were married at the very place where he proposed. We have recently celebrated 5 years of being married.
We have 7 grandchildren between us. Being Pop Pop and Scrimshaw (that’s what they call me) is the best feeling in the world. I can’t imagine my life without Jeff Cascino. I hope for everyone to have the love of a true love as we do.
