September 11, 2001, America was united by tragedy. That unity is a reminder of what we can achieve if we respect one another and work together to preserve our democracy for the benefit of all.
The emotions of that day may not be understood by younger people who did not witness the loss of life and tragic events. It is imperative that new generations be educated about the sacrifices that were made both during the attacks and in their aftermath, so that those sacrifices will not be forgotten and we continue to honor all who gave to their communities and country in the days, weeks, and years following.
