"B Inspired" Podcast Episode Explores the Genius of Award-winning Artist Jim Meehan

Awarded “Best in Show”…again…at Studio B’s exhibit “What Inspires YOU?” native New Yorker and graduate from Fordham University with a degree in psychology followed by several years studying at the School of Visual Arts, Jim Meehan reveals that his mission is to be obscure, to retain a bit of mystery.

An admirer of the surrealist painters, he draws “from his head”—as if he’s explaining something to himself, “working it out,” surprising himself a bit. A cartoonist like his father, Jim worked at the New York Daily News, in advertising while building his portfolio, and drew whenever his Mr. Mom duties allowed.

He works in pen and ink on paper, acrylic on canvas, and mixed media collage—always hoping to create something of interest to himself and entertaining for others.
