Boyertown Area School District's Communications Specialist Alison Moyer sent out the latest "It BEARS Repeating" newsletter following a recent school board meeting, showcasing some creative and fun things happening with students and staff in our schools. Check out the newsletter: https://www.smore.com/ma83j

Reindeer Realty Brokers
Alison writes, "Seventh-graders at MSE designed gingerbread houses and wrote descriptive paragraphs in preparation for the jolliest house sale of the season. Teachers then received the message below with the opportunity to purchase a house of the very own."

"You have been awarded $1,000,000 in “Ginger Bread” to come purchase the Gingerbread Home of Your Dreams! On Tuesday, December 19, Wednesday, December 20th, and Thursday, December 21, we will be hosting our OPEN HOUSE. There will be flyers outside of rooms 110 and 111 for you to browse. You can then decide on your future home based on the descriptions created by these very creative realtors. You can purchase the home by taking a “Sold” sign, putting your offer on it, and stapling it to your dream home."

"Our 7th grade realtors here at Reindeer Realty Group are so excited for you to read the descriptions they have created for these homes. Through this project, they are learning to become better descriptive writers. They are being offered a commission if their home sells off the description they created!

"Thank you in advance for participating, and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

"Sincerely,

"Karen Monzo and Karen Laub

Holiday Door Decorating
Another feature in the newsletter showcased the holiday door decorating contest at the senior high school that the Student Council hosted.

The IT Department showcases their "Holiday Spirit."

Photos of all of the decorated doors are included in a download file available through the newsletter. The creativity is inspiring! Winners were

Most Creative - Pre School/Mrs. Strick
Explosion of Holiday Color – Mrs. Donovan
Thinking Outside The Box - Art Department
Most Realistic – Mrs. Wood
Most Interactive – Mrs. Miller
Holiday Spirit - IT Department
Most Like the Movie – Mr. Bleiler
Most Artistic- Ms. Donohue
Overall Winner – Ms. Boyle

Preserving the Past
Also inspiring as part of Alison's newsletter were photos from Telecommunications instructor Bill Cherkasky describing some of the efforts he's effected in recent years to preserve the history of the senior high school.

Having recently recorded a "B Inspired" episode with Bill, I enjoyed seeing some of what he described in our conversation in the photos he presented at the school board meeting. (Photos are available in a download.)

The podcast episode with Bill will be available for listening on your favorite podcast platform beginning February 16, 2024, and an article in The Expression will be forthcoming for those who prefer to read than listen.
