Congratulations to BASH Grad

Congratulations to Boyertown Area Senior High School (BASH) class of '98 grad, Tracey Patrick, who is celebrating her most recent academic achievement: earning a Master's Degree in Urban Education with a Graduate Certificate in Anti-Racism from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Very few colleges in the country offer Urban Education programs. Tracey has been teaching in North Carolina for years.

Beth Glick's Photos Bring Beauty to Life

It's always a treat when Boyertown alum Beth Glick gets her camera out. With everyone ready for spring, Beth enjoyed sharing this photo of pansies.

Explaining her choice, she says, “I love the color combinations of purple and yellow, especially these pansies because they look like they're painted with watercolors the way the colors blend together. I was moving these pansies on a cart when I saw the sun shining through them and I stopped to grab a quick photo with my phone.”

Book Nook To Close Its Doors

A recent Facebook post brings the sad news that Boyertown’s used book store, The Book Nook, is shutting down. The post says:

“After 14 years in business, it is with a very heavy heart that we are making this announcement. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are beginning the process of permanently closing our doors. Our retail space is being drastically reduced, making the day-to-day operations of our business no longer viable. What does this mean for you, our valued customers? Effective immediately, we will no longer accept any trades or donations. Any credit earned to date can still be used as usual. Over the coming weeks, we will begin a clearance schedule to eliminate our inventory. Thank you for your continued love and support.”

Local Citizens Express Their Views

On a recent sunny weekend day, some Boyertown area residents joined people around America in expressing their political views.
