Boyertown celebrated itself all day and into the evening on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in events that inspired an afterglow of pride in the creativity, selflessness, and commitment that members of the community share with one another in myriad ways every day.
Coming Out of Hibernation
Building a Better Boyertown’s “Coming Out of Hibernation” festival was bigger than ever. A sea of tents lined the streets.
The nonprofit ordered a perfect day of sunshine for the event. “Bearianne” woke up after her long winter’s nap to the cheers of children and adults eager to see the sun after a month or more of rainy grey days.
There were smiles everywhere!
And quiet joy and concentration.
Tents and tables of over ninety vendors were set up along East Philadelphia Ave and South Chestnut Street offering to thousands of visitors their colorful crafts and food, items for sale, and information about their businesses or services.
Not to be forgotten, Mother Nature added her color and charm.
Citizen of the Year Celebration
As the vendors packed up at the end of the afternoon, the doors opened at the Museum of Historic Vehicles for the community’s annual celebration of individuals who have offered their time and talents above and beyond. It was time for the Citizen of the Year awards event.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of Boyertown's celebration of its inspiring people.
