Boyertown Area School District Superintendent To Retire
Mrs. Marybeth Torchia, Superintendent of the Boyertown Area School District, has announced her retirement, which will take effect August 9, 2024.
The first woman to be at the helm of the school district, Torchia was hired on a five year contract that began July 1, 2021.
She originally came to the Boyertown Area District as Director of Secondary Special Education in 2015. Later she became the assistant to the superintendent and then acting superintendent before moving to the top position. Prior to coming to Boyertown, she held several positions, including superintendent, in the neighboring Daniel Boone School District.
Regarding her retirement, Torchia expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to serve as the school district’s leader. She also expressed confidence in the district's continuing commitment to a tradition of excellence.
