Set in a lovely large room filled with laughter, music, and the warmth of glowing lights, Boyertown Area Senior High (BASH) held its annual senior prom the evening of Friday, May 3, 2024
As far back as anyone can recall, the prom has been held at the famed Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown, with the exception of a few years when Sunnybrook was totally shut down. The theme,"The Great Gatsby," was perfectly suited to this venue that hosted the rich and famous, dancing to the Big Bands of the Jazz Age back in the 1920s.
Adorned with elegant decorations, it was the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening.Wearing a beautiful variety of gowns and suits, BASH students mingled and danced the night away. As the evening drew to a close, students departed with memories of a great night they will remember in the years to come.
As in past years, at midnight, students lined up for the promenade. While not quite as striking as it was in a bygone era when students were able to promenade around Sunnybrook's outdoor pool, it remains a lovely tradition and great photo opportunity.
Happily, technology and the expertise of Mr. Bill Cherkasky, BASH Telecommunications teacher, and his students, enable us to enjoy a video montage of the event and the promenade via the internet.
(Just a reminder that youtube.com sometimes requires you to watch a brief commercial or two prior to the event you want to watch. There is nothing you or we can do about it; that's just the way it works, so please be patient and enjoy!)
