It was a busy day in Boyertown on Friday afternoon, September 6, 2024, with two ribbon cuttings to welcome two new businesses and the painting of a wall mural.
Painting of the World Cow mural on the east side wall of Peppermint Stick Candy Store began at noon. Finishing by dark was the artist's intention.
Vermont artist DJ Barry spent the day creating the mural, sharing the project's mission of spreading kindness, and showcasing the many locations around the world that have participated in the project since it began in 2015.
"We're all spots on the same cow," DJ explains, calling attention to the spots representing the world's continents. DJ travels the United States painting cows and works with other artists around the world providing instruction to help the painting process.
Corporate sponsors of the project are State Farm Insurance agent Dan Albert and the Colebrookdale Railroad. Donations to sponsor flowers benefit the Boyertown United Way.
Moderate rain, with a high of 92 and low of 62 degrees. Fog in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, clear overnight.
Thank you for this article. We need to hear the stories/experiences of people pro and con.
Thank you for your support, Sandra! Too many people don't know that in "LGBTQIA" the "A" stands for "aly," of which, I can easily count Jane and you as two of them! -Yergz
Sounds like a wonderful time was enjoyed by the children and also their parents. Thank you Mandy and Judy.
