Note from the editor: In 2006, Building a Better Boyertown published the first of two pictorial history books. A small committee invited community members to bring photographs to be scanned and potentially included in the volume. In a labor of love, photographs were collected and scanned, researched for their significance, captioned, and organized by topics that surfaced from the collection itself. Individuals were recruited to provide historic context. Boyertown Publishing offered the skills of Barbara and Eugene Rothenberger who designed the volume, prepared the photographs, and created the layout for publication. The book is now out-of-print; copies are no longer available. The Expression is happy to share pages from the popular volume.
Book #2, published in 2009 that includes a DVD of 17 individuals whose efforts "made" the town as we know it, is available at several locations: Building a Better Boyertown office, Studio B Art Gallery, and the Boyertown Area Historical Society, for example..
