Boyertown Area Historical Society Has Print Resources Available

The Boyertown Times (and Berks Democrat) are available on the Society's computer. They are glad to share that there is "no more searching those ancient microfilm machines. You never know what you'll find when you look back."

Society memberships make a great holiday gift. The library is open by appointment and the
0ffice is open Wednesdays, 9-12.

Here is an ad that was from June of 1966. What a deal for an apartment in 1966!

Quilt of Valor Is Awarded

The Boyertown Area School District shares:

"Rod Norman, courier for BASD, was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Mrs. Bonnie Coughlin on behalf of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The Mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Mrs. Coughlin is the grandmother of one of NHUF’s students. When presenting the quilts, they capture pictures of the veterans wrapped in them. The Quilt of Valor is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand-quilted. It says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.” The quilt must be a specific size, have a label with the required information, be awarded (it is not a gift), and be recorded."
