Today, Dec. 11, is the last day to kick up your festive holiday mood by visiting the annual Poinsettia Show at Glick's Greenhouse in Oley. The nursery is owned by Boyertown alum Beth Forney Glick and her husband, Dave. The show is open from noon to 8:00 PM.
Each year's show has a different theme, and 2024's featured theme is "Celebrating Christmas through a Child's Eyes. Over 15,000 Poinsettias of varied colors and sizes adorn the greenhouse and are interspersed with scenes depicting the holiday as a child would see it. This is the 46th year for the event that was initiated as a way to share this beauty with the local community.
A display of wreaths submitted by area businesses and groups, free hot dogs, free popcorn, and holiday music contribute to the enjoyment. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
Thank you for being brave enough to share your story. Hearing people's stories can make a difference, eclipsing unfair sterotypes and judgements.
Moderate rain, with a high of 55 and low of 31 degrees. Fog in the morning, partly cloudy for the afternoon and evening, fog overnight.
So beautifully written, Craig!
Very nice to be reminded we do not live in fairy tale time (Holywood hasn't helped either), and of the real essence of love--caring for and about another Thanks, Chris.
Great message. I have been walking around with an empty shoe for fifty years, forgetting that love is already here.
