Recently, representatives of the Boyertown Y Branch traveled with Boyertown students to Harrisburg to join the 80th Youth and Government Model Convention. We had 86 students attend from the Boyertown Area School District, our largest number in 6 years. Students arrived in Harrisburg April 16 and returned April 19. During their time they debated bills, presented their cases in the judicial program, worked in the press core, chaired committees, judged oral arguments or lobbied for bill, One student served as Chief of Staff to the Governor's Administration. April 18 we started in the Capitol building at 8 AM with building tours before moving on to student activities.
I haven't been to the folk fest since I worked it as a teen helping to make apple butter. I hope the schnitz and knepp is still as good, and that you can still get vanilla ice cream with peaches. I still have some blacksmithed items from those years kicking around.
Sunny, with a high of 91 and low of 64 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear overnight.
Good luck and best wishes for a successful event from the Class of 1976! We will be holding our 50 year reunion in October.
