Middle School West cafeteria was transformed into a realm of curiosity and discovery. This year’s Title 1 Family Night—reimagined as a "Knight of Wonder"—brought families together for a blend of literacy and STEM exploration.
The room was buzzing with excitement as our BASH Chief Science Officers (CSOs) took the lead, proving that when students teach students, the magic of learning truly comes to life.
At its heart, Title 1 Night is about empowering families with the resources they need to succeed. The evening kicked off with a family presentation focused on literacy tools, providing families with practical strategies to support reading at home.
To make literacy interactive, families rotated through various literacy stations designed to make wordplay and reading comprehension feel like a game rather than a chore. Perhaps the highlight of the evening was the book giveaway: every student who attended went home with a new book.
This year, the BASH CSOs elevated the event by designing a hands-on STEM odyssey. These student leaders guided their younger peers through four immersive stations that explored the wonders of the physical world:
Robotics: Students interacted with cutting-edge tech, navigating the future of automation and coding.
