To end this month of flowers, let me give a nod to a subscriber who suggested this series might be welcome in January!  Good point. 

Today's black-eyed Susans show up in my garden at the tail end of summer. Their foliage acts as ground cover until the blooms take over. I'm grateful for their help in keeping weeds at bay!

A final thought as we end the series: keep the meme from 2019 below in mind. The news in 2026 can be despairing, but, in the end, we have a choice. I hope you'll join me!
