The Uplifting Voices Project, a local 501(c)(3) dedicated to amplifying meaningful storytelling, is proud to announce a free community event: the Pottstown Writers Market on July 11th from 11:00-4:00. The event will feature food trucks, live music, and 50 local writers sharing their work in a farmers' market setting.

Uplifting Voices has interviewed dozens of writers as potential participants for quarterly events. After meeting so many high-quality local writers and building a strong following both at events and on social media, hosting a Writers Market became a natural next step for amplifying their work in the community.

The event will be hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Pottstown, located at 1565 S. Keim Street, Pottstown, PA. Attendees are welcome any time between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The 50 local writers and publishers work across the wide spectrum of genres, from children's book authors to award winning thriller authors. We intentionally wanted the market to have something for everybody, especially those bookish types who might consider writing their own story at some point and just need the spark of inspiration.

The food trucks are both Pottstown-based local businesses. 610 Smash Burger will provide the traditional American summer cuisine, and Caribbean Paradise will be offering some Jamaican cuisine.

Founded to create intentional space for storytelling and dialogue, The Uplifting Voices Project will resume its quarterly events this fall, inviting local and regional authors to share not just their work, but the meaning behind it, encouraging empathy, connection, and community healing.

The Uplifting Voices Project is also currently seeking local creatives whose work explores the relationship between the environment and technology. The fall event will focus on community concerns surrounding proposed data centers in the area, and organizers have reached out to local politicians to participate in a Q&A session. Anyone who knows local authors whose work speaks to this issue is encouraged to reach out via social media.
