HOSA Autism Awareness November Newsletter

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of The Boyertown Area Expression management or staff.

November was a busy and exciting month for my partner, Tyler, and me as we continued our HOSA autism awareness and fundraising efforts throughout the Boyertown community.

We started the month with our Autism Awareness 5K Walk, which raised $829. We were incredibly grateful for the turnout and the support we received. One of the highlights of the month was being featured on 69 News Berks, which helped us spread our message even further and share why this cause is so important to us.

Later in November, we served as vendors at the craft fair at Good Shepherd Church in Boyertown. We sold sensory kits and bracelets, and we had the chance to talk with many community members who were interested in learning more about autism acceptance and inclusion. Events like this remind us of the true supportiveness of our community.

With the help of everyone who has supported us so far, we have now raised over $1,800. Our goal is to reach $2,000, and we’re hopeful we’ll get there soon.

Looking ahead, we will be participating in Chillin’ On Main, where we’ll again be selling sensory kits, bracelets, and hot chocolate. We will also be speaking at St. Columbkill Church, where we will share our mission and the progress we’ve made so far.

As we continue our work, we are always open to new event ideas, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities. We’re grateful for every chance to raise awareness and support autistic individuals in our community.
