Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Irwin Stone (Koziol), loving friend, mother, and grandmother, passed into the arms of her Savior Thursday morning, December 11th, 2025, at 78 years old.

Born December 30th, 1946, in Hazelton, PA, to parents Thomas and Anna Koziol, Kathy never met a stranger in her life. Her inquisitive nature, love of the natural world, and artistic soul were immediately evident to all who met her in the grocery store aisle, her church, or the park. She warmly shared her affections for people, animals, humor, art, and music throughout her life, as an active and vibrant member of the Boyertown Senior Center, St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, and Keystone Villa at Douglassville communities.

Kathy earned degrees from Kutztown and Marywood Universities, along with numerous certifications in addictions counseling. Through her private practice, Inner Direction Counseling Center, Kathy helped countless people navigate their own journeys, leaving lasting impressions with all.

Known for her love of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and the beach, Kathy enjoyed many adventures and road trips with family and friends. Whether to art shows, the theater, the lake, the mountains, Lancaster County, or to find the best ice cream in the state, she lived fully. Her late husband Jerrold Stone (d.2014) and her children Lydia (Christopher) and Benjamin (Angela), stepchildren Barbara (Doug), Margaret, Chris (Connie), Ted (Ann) and Patrick (Brenda), grandchildren Jamie, Qinny, Michael, Katarina, Gryphon and Willow were an incredibly important part of her life. She loved animals of all kinds and especially delighted in showering love on her beloved Sunny, who was her constant companion.

Before retiring to Keystone Villa at Douglassville, her love of entertaining brought many family holidays and celebrations with friends to her home in Boyertown, PA. Her lovely gardens, relaxing porch and lively drum circles will be remembered fondly by all who had the opportunity to participate.

A service will be held onsite at Keystone Villa for residents and staff. A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Douglassville for close family and friends. Donations to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, in Kathy’s name, are requested in lieu of flowers.
