Behind the Scenes of the Boyertown Show Choir's Visit to Carnegie Hall

Students from the Boyertown Area Senior High (BASH) Show Choir received a standing ovation at New York City’s world-renowned Carnegie Hall on Jan. 15 following their performance as part of an invitation- only high school music festival titled, “Way Over Beulah Lan'."

Lauding the students, Brunner said prior to their performance: "I am proud of how far they have come and hard they work. They understand the significance of this experience. I think they are going to do us really proud."

The BASH students had 15 minutes to perform three selections, including one piece composed by Stacey V. Gibbs.

BASH Show Choir joined students from other schools for a grand finale performance of the concert title piece, “Way Over Beulah Lan’,” which was composed by guest conductor Gibbs.
Boyertown residents Jim and Nancy Brunner take in New York's Times Square. While the choir students rehearsed, they and other community members had time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Apple.

Students enjoy a hearty meal on the way back to Boyertown. Transportation and dinner costs for the students were partially underwritten from the proceeds of the group’s fundraising.
