Addition to Monday's Story: Generosity of Boyertown Area Brings Smiles To Sister City Bohodukhiv
Monday we published a letter we received from Linda Weinberger who has been the organizer behind Boyertown's efforts to help our Sister City, Bohodukhiv, in Ukraine. It is an uplifting story and if you missed it, you can read it here..
This morning we received another email from Linda, asking us to please share that she would like to express appreciation to another major donor to this effort: Dr.Jim Tribbett. Linda says Jim " has been the biggest financial supporter of this effort from the beginning. So many people wonder how to help, and the answer is 'Go see Jim. He'll give you the story.'"
Jim has been extremely generous with cash donations and he has worked hard to persuade his friends in the community to donate as well. As just one example, Jim shares, "One friend, who was my partner on our first journey to Bohodukhiv when we distributed eyeglasses, sent me $500 in lieu of exchanging our usual Christmas presents."
Jim says many other individuals have also given him donations as they are able to. "This support will be needed for years to come in their rebuilding efforts. [I fear that] Our support will dwindle with time because there are always other needs by other people, but this won't go away," he concludes with concern.
