"B Inspired" Introduces Creator of "A Better Bear": Mural Artist Chris B. Murray

Boyertown's updated mural--"A Better Bear"--reminds us as we start a new year that becoming better is what we hope each of us strives to be.

Located on the west side of Rita's Water Ice on East Philadelphia Avenue and Franklin Street, the mural refreshes the mission of unity and acceptance that Boyertown continues to foster. 

"B Inspired" was inspired by its artist Chris B. Murray. In under three weeks, Chris spray painted his colorful and whimsical design “A Better Bear” onto the west side of Boyertown, PA's Rita’s Water Ice building.

I enjoyed learning about the skills he developed using spray paint--how, for example, he is able to achieve his fine lines and what he's learned from graffiti artists. 

Reflecting on his career plan, Chris never made a "Plan B," so being able to make a living for himself and his family as an artist--his "Plan A"--is a most satisfying accomplishment. There was never a doubt in his own mind-- nor those of his parents and teachers--that his talents would bring him success--after some difficult, lean years.
