New York may have Times Square, but the Boyertown area has the annual Historical Society's Bear Drop. What more special way could there be to ring in the new year!

This Bear Drop tradition started in 2010. So, as the clock ticks closer to 2024, the Boyertown Area Historical Society invites you to join us once again. Let’s ring in the new year with this unique and heartwarming tradition: the annual Bear Drop! This festive event, taking place at the Boyertown Area Historical Society Dec. 31, 2023 from 5:00-6:00 pm, promises a fun-filled evening for the whole family as you celebrate the close of one year and welcome the next with open arms.

Here's why you shouldn't miss the Boyertown Area Historical Society's Bear Drop:

  • A Spectacular Descent: Witness the excitement as our bear aptly descends from the Boyertown Hook and Ladder fire truck's ladder, marking the official countdown to the New Year as we sync with Germany New Year's time.
  • Festive Fun for All: Enjoy live music by John Yost from 107.5 FM as he MCs the event, keeping the energy high and the smiles wide.
  • Honoring Local Heroes: Show your gratitude to our local veterans by contributing to the goodie bags being assembled for them. You can donate new undergarments on the day of the event, ensuring these brave individuals have a comfortable start to the new year.

The Bear Drop is not just about celebrating the new year; it is about community, tradition, and giving back. So come join us as we mark this special occasion with joy, gratitude, and our bear, counting down the New Year right along with our friends in Germany.
