A drizzly Friday morning did not dampen the spirits of dozens of community and banking leaders and members of the community who welcomed "Hamilton," the latest addition to the Bear Fever public art project, the mascot of Boyertown's branch of M&T Bank on the corner of S Washington St and E Philadelphia Ave.
Community leaders added their appreciation for the bank's mission of support for the community and appreciation of its storied history, visualized in the company's colors printed on t-shirts the staff wore for the unveiling and in the images of Boyertown Area's pride painted on the bear's body.
In nods to the banking industry, "Hamilton's" ears sport dollar signs; his toes feature coins. But the logo for community shines in his eyes and is enlarged on his nose.
Look forward to more information about M&T Bank as it plans measures to support the community.
Hi Mark Noonan here, husband of the amazing Julianne. Great article - just one small error - I did not grow up in Phoenixville but in a rural area of NE Pennsylvania. Thanks for writing this article!
Overcast , with a high of 71 and low of 62 degrees. Overcast for the morning, cloudy in the afternoon and evening, partly cloudy overnight.
Can you still get the first copy of the Bear Fever? If so, where, and how much are they?
thank you!
Hi, Linda! We will be re-printing the booklet in the next week or so. Cost is $20 cash and check; $25 credit card. They will be available at Studio B Art Gallery on Saturdays and Sundays 12-2 or the Building a Better Boyertown office 10-5 most days. Thank you for your interest.
Oh, well done.
