Recently, GES hosted Law Enforcement Day, an engaging and educational experience where students had the opportunity to interact with members of our local law enforcement. Officers were on-site to showcase a variety of important tools and vehicles they use to keep our community safe, including a SWAT truck, police canines, and a Drone Truck. Each class had the opportunity to visit and explore these interactive displays and learn more about the work our officers do every day.
In addition, our 5th-grade students took part in a special session focused on online safety called NetSmartz. This program is a trusted internet safety program developed by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. At Mission Kids, they use this engaging, age-appropriate curriculum to teach students ages 5–17 about online safety, digital citizenship, and cyberbullying. The lessons use animated videos, interactive discussions, and take-home resources to help students learn how to protect themselves and their friends online.
Hi Mark Noonan here, husband of the amazing Julianne. Great article - just one small error - I did not grow up in Phoenixville but in a rural area of NE Pennsylvania. Thanks for writing this article!
Corrected. The joy of digital. Thanks; I enjoyed talking with Julianne.
