It’s hard to believe we are midway through August, and summer is coming to a close very soon. With this in mind, there is still time to enjoy the concerts in the Boyertown Park. The Director’s Band will be presenting a Big Band Concert this Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Spaatz Band Shell in Boyertown Park. This community event is free to the public.

New music that the group has not previously played is being included as part of this concert. A unique version of “Come Fly With Me,” by Count Basie,  arranged by Billy Byers, will be one of these selections. Those who remember the 5th Dimension's 1969 hit will also enjoy “Aquarius” ("Let the Sunshine In"). Miles Davis is also on the set list with the selection entitled “Four," and Everyone will recognize the standard “Take the A Train,” by Duke Ellington.

Band members are hoping for good weather this time since the Fun Days Concert was rained out. Please bring a lawn chair, blanket, and your favorite snack to enjoy during the concert. Parking is available. This is a family-friendly environment, and children are welcome!

The public is welcome to email the band at directorsbandboyertown@gmail.com and request to be added to the mailing list.  You can also locate the band on Facebook by searching for “The Director’s Big Band."

Don’t miss out on the summer fun!  Fall is right around the corner!
