Walking through a graveyard… in October… after dark… stopping to learn about who is buried at various sites, what the markings on the graves mean, and some of the customs over the centuries…Does this sound like an interesting event? If so, join the crew at Old Goshenhoppen Reformed Church in Woxall on Friday, October 17 (rain date – Saturday, Oct. 18) to walk through 290 years of history.
There will be guided tours beginning at 4:30 PM leaving every half hour until the last one at 8:00. Each tour will begin at the church, visit the historic Gemeinhaus, and then wind around the graveyard for roughly an hour. There are soldiers from the Revolutionary War and every war since, buried, along with other folk whose lives tell wonderful stories.

If you plan to join us, be sure to dress for the weather: wear comfortable walking shoes and be ready to be fascinated. The purpose of this tour is to honor our deceased and pass along their stories.
The cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. All proceeds benefit the cemetery restoration efforts. All actors, guides, etc. are volunteers and accept no payment.
Old Goshenhoppen is located at 2092 Church Road, Harleysville, PA. You can find more information at our website: www.oldgoshenhoppen.org

Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 50 and low of 42 degrees. Overcast in the morning, patchy rain nearby overnight.
I found this to be quite thought-provoking.
Beautifully done, Anne Kent. Written as one who loves words, the smell of books, and everything to do with liver transplants.
So happy to hear Nathaniel is on the mend.
Just in time for the best holiday of the year.
Loved your memory and the story of the "lucky" pilgrim, and the Thanksgiving figues. Thanks, Leslie.
