[Editor's note -- We published Gary's enthusiastic letter the other day, but neglected to include the photos ... and they are worth seeing ... so here they are!]

What is the best kept secret in Boyertown? I believe it is the Christmas lights you see every holiday season in our downtown.
And how do they get there? Does Met-Ed install them? No. Maybe the borough employees? No.
Since 1993, members of the Boyertown Lions Club have been responsible for the hanging and maintenance of the Christmas lights downtown. On the Sunday morning before Thanksgiving, this dedicated group of volunteers gather together dark and early in the basement of the Boyertown Ambulance Service building, the storage space for the lights.

From there we distribute ornaments at the poles on Philadelphia and Reading Avenues. T L Conrad Electric donates their time and equipment to install the lights. We owe our thanks to Terry and Todd.

That's how it works; it's a great team effort.
We hope you enjoy the extra touch these decorations bring to our downtown when patronizing our many shops and restaurants during the holiday season. Please take a moment to thank the Lions of Boyertown. Serving this community since 1939.
