Driving around our area, one can already see houses lit up with lights and inflatable figures that we look forward to seeing as we celebrate the holidays of the season. Already past are the pumpkins, corn shocks, and turkeys of the fall celebrations. Everything seems to fly by quickly!
Along with decorations, shopping, food, and gifts comes the music of the season. the Boyertown Alumni Marching Unit has been preparing for our 21st Holiday Concert, which will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM. MStar Church in Bechtelsville, located at 100 Limekiln Road, hosts the annual event, complete with a welcoming spread of delicious refreshments available in the lobby for everyone in attendance. Admission is free of charge. A free-will offering is taken at the door by the Marching Unit for the Boyertown Multi-Service.
Under the direction of Band Captain Dennis Weller, the band will perform traditional favorites, including "Sleigh Ride" and "A Christmas Festival." Get ready to tap your toe to “Good King Wensa-Salsa” and “Jingle Dances”. Under the direction of band member Sean O’Neill, the band will present a rousing swing/gospel arrangement by Jay Dawson of “Go Tell It On The Mountain” that you will not want to miss.
“Mary Did You Know,” made famous by Pentatonix and Carrie Underwood, will be conducted by band member Nancy Mest. It is a cherished contemporary Christmas hit that has become a staple of the holiday season.
Television and movie favorites will be scattered amongst these feature selections, as well as a tuba section feature, the band front, and, of course, a march! Band President Tom McHugh told the marching unit, “We are so fortunate to be able to perform at MStar, and we thank them for their amazing cooperation and hospitality each year!"
This hour-long concert is the perfect setting to get everyone in the Holiday Spirit. Come out and bring your family members, young and old alike. MStar has plenty of parking and is easily accessible to all, regardless of mobility. Happy Holidays!!!!
