Pork and Kraut, parades, the “Ball” in Times Square, noise makers, Bowl Games, and dancing the night away are all part of “ringing in the New Year” in our area. For those who are looking for an afternoon event to celebrate New Year’s Eve, the Directors Big Band is hosting a Matinee Dance at the Keystone Fire Company of Boyertown (downstairs), 240 Walnut Street, Boyertown, PA 19512, from 1:00-4:00 PM on December 31, 2025.
The band is made up of local musicians and features vocalists as well. Many audience members enjoy the band in the Boyertown Park in the summer months. The event is kicked off by the band performing HOT CHOCOLATE made famous by Tom Hanks in the Motion Picture The Polar Express. Vocalists will be featured in selections such as Embraceable You, You Make Me Feel So Young, That Old Black Magic, and Unforgettable, just to name a few. The event will wrap up with Auld Lang Syne/Golden Slippers-a Mummers Medley and Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade. Band member Wayne Grace says, “The band looks forward to playing so many favorites from big band standards to pop and holiday favorites, and all we need is a great audience to make it complete!”
The band is under the Direction of Mr. Jim Dugan. It promises to be a great afternoon! The event is family-friendly and accessible to all, with ample parking available. Tickets are on sale in advance at Aunt Nannie’s Bake Shop in Bechtelsville. Other ways to obtain a ticket are to ask a band member, message the band on Facebook, or email DirectorsBandBoyertown@gmail.com. The ticket price is $10.00. There will also be a cash bar, snacks, as well as a basket raffle. Dress is casual!
See you at the Keystone! Here’s to 2026!
