From the Expression staff:

In recognition of the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, we asked our subscribers and friends to share a "love story" with us with the understanding that "love" could be defined in any way they chose--that their response did not have to be serious essays about the greatest love of their lives (though they could be) but could be more lighthearted. Over the next few days we will share the submissions.

Wedding Venue Blues

A wedding in Reading,

Is that where we’re heading?

Or maybe Canadian

Cold for the bride.

Jamaica is pretty,

But not New York City.

When the world is the venue

It’s hard to decide!

This one’s too beach-y

And that one’s too hot.

Another’s expensive,

‘Course we like it a lot!

This one’s too near

But that one’s too far.

Should we fly in a plane

Or drive in a car?

The lists and the prices,

The tux & the gown…

The cake & the food

And, oh yeah…what town?

So much to determine,

So hard just to cope.

There are days when it seems

That it’s best to elope!
