The Benches Of Boyertown: Spring Training Edition

It seems that quite a few Boyertown area residents have established a tradition of soaking up a few days in the Florida sunshine  and cheering on the Phillies (or, just possibly, another team) during spring training.

Above, retired Boyertown Area Senior High (BASH) social studies teacher, Rose Martin, and husband Glenn. This photo was snapped by retired BASH math teacher, Roberta Windish... and someone seems to have snapped a photo of her too (below)!

And while her outfit is a bit more conservative, BASH retired business education teacher Becky Gallagher is also smiling about her Phillies team, along with Sam Gaugler, BASH class of '73 alum (below).

Becky encountered a number of other Boyertown area residents, among them, Ron and Shirley Moyer, class of 1962 and class of 1965 respectively (below).

And then there were Jeff and Debbie Moyer, both BASH class of 1973 alums (below).

Usually seen at Penn State football games, Joe and Diane McGlinchey were also checking out the Phillies... and the sunshine. Joe is a retired BASH guidance counselor and track coach and Diane is a retired BASH admin assistant (below).

In addition to friends and former co-workers, Becky also encountered former students. Below, on a trip to the restroom, she encountered  Mary Kent, BASH class of 2007 and now Mary Humphries, a school counselor in the Lancaster area.

And then a former student who is just a little bit older, proving spring training is for everyone, Rowan Carter, BASH class of 1974, former Sports Editor of the CUB, student newspaper. Clearly, he still loves sports!

Go Phillies; see you next year.
