To honor Black History Month, the Ringgold Band will present a concert at St. John's Lutheran Church, Boyertown, on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 7:00pm.
At this free concert, the band will feature music by black composers and performers dating from the 19th century to the present. Of special interest will be the swing music of Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, marches by WW I band leader, James Reese Europe, and the amazing classical music of Florence Price, who was the first African American woman to write a symphony performed by a major orchestra. Among the vocal numbers featured, will be "Lift Every Voice and Sing". Also, a moving tribute to Civil Rights Activist, Rosa Parks, is planned.

Hi Mark Noonan here, husband of the amazing Julianne. Great article - just one small error - I did not grow up in Phoenixville but in a rural area of NE Pennsylvania. Thanks for writing this article!
Corrected. The joy of digital. Thanks; I enjoyed talking with Julianne.
Can you still get the first copy of the Bear Fever? If so, where, and how much are they?
thank you!
